Despite being a port of the PC versions of all three Splinter Cell titles, this trilogy does not include online multiplayer for Pandora Tomorrow and Chaos Theory, nor does it include Co-Op.This option was not present at the time of the HD Trilogy's release. The only major patch released for the HD Trilogy after the release was an option to invert camera controls for the games. It was also confirmed that the HD Trilogy would not be ports of the PlayStation 2 version, but instead the PC version (which had more content and features than the PS2 version). The Trilogy was announced as part of a triple-pack for retail, and would be released individually on the PlayStation Network. The Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell HD Trilogy was first announced by Ubisoft's Alex Monney on the official PlayStation Blog on April 7th, 2011. The three main features that the HD Trilogy included were, "Graphics in HD resolution, 3D Stereoscopic support for 3D TVs some exciting and challenging Trophies." Development In Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, the Spies vs Mercs mode is not present nor is it included in Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, along with the cooperative mode. The save slots (not counting quick saves) are typically restricted about four save slots for each game, and in Chaos Theory, the 'save preview' images are static images of the respective levels, instead of a mini-screenshot of the player's screen.Īnother noticeable feature is how the multiplayer and cooperative components of the Splinter Cell games are not included in the HD Trilogy. Additionally, the HD Trilogy features a manual save system where the player is free to save or quick save their progress at any point during the game. In each of the games, except for Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, the main menu, pause menu and OPSAT display is different - usually showing the concept/cover art for the respective game. The Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Classic Trilogy HD includes all three games, and despite being remastered versions of each of them, the display and interfaces look different.
